Reading - Please try to read for 10 minutes every night.

Times Tables –  A times tables sheet will be sent home every Wednesday. Please learn these like the tables for a quiz on Wednesday 6^th March.

Counting - Practise counting in 5s from any given number.  Challenge – count in tens from 0 to 100. Challenge – now count from 100 to 0!

This week in Year 2

English

This week we have continued to learn through our book ‘The Lumberjack’s Beard’. The children wrote a character description for Lumberjack Jim and explored great vocabulary from the text.

Maths

This week we started the Measurement topic. The children ordered mass from heaviest to lightest, read numbers on different scales and compared different weights for objects.

RE

In our learning this week, we wrote about the journey of Lent. We also discussed what happens on St David’s Day.

ART

In Art this week, we observed patterns, colours and shapes when drawing tulips. We also used a fork to experiment with the effects we could achieve when dragging it through paint.

 Reminders

World Book Day is Thursday 7^th March. Please come into school dressed as your favourite character. There will also be an oppportunity to swap a book with someone from your class.

#LetGirlsPlay – all the girls who would like to have a go at playing football can do so on Friday 8^th March at Dinner Play!
