Year 3 - Computing Safer Internet Day 2026
Class: Year 3 Year: 2025 - 2026
This week we marked Safer Internet Day by thinking carefully about how we use technology and how artificial intelligence works in our daily lives.
We joined a fantastic live lesson with the BBC, where we learned about staying safe online, protecting our personal information and remembering that not everything we see on the internet is always true. We talked about how to question information and make sensible choices when using devices at home and in school.
In Computing, we became AI experts! First, we trained our own AI model to help us with our North America topic. We showed the computer examples and helped it learn to recognise information. Then, we used Code.org to train different AI systems and even helped each other improve our programs. We quickly realised that AI is only as good as the instructions and data humans give it.
Finally, we designed our own Safer AI posters on Canva. These included important messages about keeping personal information private, checking facts and using technology responsibly. We will be displaying these around school to help others stay safe online too.
Well done Year 3 on a very modern day of learning and some brilliant digital citizenship!
