Year 2-English-Harvey Slumfenburger Books

Class: Year 2 Year: 2025 - 2026

We are authors! We have spent 2 weeks writing our books. We listened to the story a few times so that we understood the language and the phrases that make the structure of the story. We then planned our own version of the story and wrote it. We designed our front cover and wrote a blurb for the back cover. We illustrated it and practiced reading it out loud.

We tried to use everything we have learned so far in Year 2, lead-ins, connectives, interesting sentence openers and correct spellings.

Finally, we were ready to publish our books and read them to an audience.

We took our books on tour to Reception and Year 4. The children enjoyed listening to them and also gave us some constructive feedback.
