Year 2 - Art - Hundertwasser

Class: Year 2 Year: 2025 - 2026

This week, Year 2 explored the colourful and imaginative artwork of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The children studied his use of bold colours, spirals, patterns and curving lines, noticing how he avoided straight lines and symmetry. They created visual notes in their sketchbooks, experimenting with spirals, buildings and repeated patterns to understand his distinctive style. Using these ideas, the children then produced their own Hundertwasser-inspired artwork, combining vibrant colours with imaginative designs. Everyone showed creativity, confidence and focus, and they were proud to share and talk about their finished pieces.
