Year 6 Blog - Thursday 2nd April 2026
Date: 2nd Apr 2026 @ 7:52am

Welcome to the Year 6 weekly blog.
Well done to all of Year 6 for leading the school in their Easter Liturgy this week. We were all so proud of their amazing singing and clear speaking. Well done Year 6!
This week in Year 6
English

In English we have been revising nouns, pronouns, adverbs and adverbials. We have also written an independent detective story based upon a new 'crime' which we imagined had taken place in school!
Maths

This week, we have learned how to calculate the internal angles of any polygon. We have also learned how to calculate the volume of a cuboid.
RE

In RE, we have prayerfully reflected on the stations of the cross. In groups, we all shared one of the stations and thought about the key message from our station. We then wrote a prayer based on our station.
We used these prayers to pray all of the stations as a class and reflect on Jesus' journey.
Topic
In Science, we have learned how nutrients are absorbed into our blood stream. We also created some amazing posters to explain how to live a healthy lifestyle. We learned about how diet, exercise, medicine and personal hygiene could all keep us safe and healthy.
In Music, we played different beats using egg shakers!

Please complete the following tasks by Wednesday 22/04/26:
Reading - Use your home reading to read every night for 30 minutes. You also have a reading diary that must be used for the title of the book and any challenges chosen.
Books may be changed on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
SATS Revision:
The children have brought home a pack of revision to complete over the Easter holidays. This pack should be returned to school on the first day back after the holidays.
