Year 6 Blog - Friday 5th June 2026
Date: 4th Jun 2026 @ 7:59am

Welcome to the Year 6 weekly blog.
All of Year 6 have had a busy first week back in school. All of the children have been working hard at rehearsals for our production. Year 6 have also helped to run the tough kidder this week. Well done for all your hard work Year 6!
This week in Year 6
English

In English we have been exploring the graphic novel 'The Arrival'. We have used our inference skills this week as there are no words in the text! We have written a narrative based on an image from the story, a diary entry in role as the protagonist and created a backstory for one of the characters who moved to the city.
RE

In RE we have learned about different Christians who are witnesses to their faith. We explored how their faith has influenced their lives. We have also explored prayers of faith, love and hope and created our own special prayers.
Topic
In Science, we have started our new topic all about evolution. We have learned about adaptation in plants by researching different plants and finding out how they are adapted to their environment.
In History, we have continued our topic on crime and punishment. We have learned about the rise of highwaymen in the Georgian era and what life was like in a Victorian prison.
In PSHE, we have been learning about how to stay safe online.

Please complete the following tasks by Wednesday 10/06/26.
Reading - Use your home reading to read every night for 30 minutes. You also have a reading diary that must be used for the title of the book and any challenges chosen.
Books may be changed on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
Please also continue to learn your lines and the lyrics for Grease Year 6!
