St Oswald's Catholic Primary School: Year 6: Blog items

Welcome to the Year 6 weekly blog.

This week Year 6 worked so hard on their auditions for our Leaver's Production. They should all be proud of how they read their lines and sang! Scripts and parts have been given out today and you can find the songs/ lyrics to practise at the end of the blog as a link or attachment.

This week in Year 6

English

Mistakes That Can Cause Overnight Aging | Women's Health

In English we explored a poem together called 'Ageing: A Reflection'. We thought about how we might look different when we are 60 years old and imagined what our favourite achievements from our lives might be. We created our own poetry imagining what our favourite things about being an adult would be and what our favourite things about being 10 or 11 are!

RE

Who is St. Stephen? - St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

In RE, we thought carefully about what qualities a disciple of Jesus would need to have. We learned all about St Stephen and created a job advert for a disciple!

Topic

In PSHE, we completed our My Happy Mind topic called appreciate. We thought carefully about what we appreciate in ourselves, others and in the experiences we have had.

In History, we learned all about Crime and Punishment in the Tudor and Stuart periods. We thought carefully about different crimes and how people would have been punished for them based on the laws of the time period. We also considered if witnesses and evidence were reliable based on their sources.

In Art, we used our observational drawing skills as we watched videos of different chair designs over time to sketch. We thought about details which appealed to us, such as the fabric of the chair or the shape of its arms. We used pencil, biro and felt tip to record our favourite aspects of different designs.
