St Oswald's Catholic Primary School: Year 6: Blog items

Welcome to the Year 6 weekly blog.

Year 6 have worked so hard on all their tests this week! All of the staff are really proud of their resilience and effort - well done Year 6 for completing your SATs!

This week in Year 6

English

Mistakes That Can Cause Overnight Aging | Women's Health

In English we have explored a poem together called 'Ageing: A Reflection'. We have thought about how we might look different when we are 60 years old and imagined what our favourite achievements from our lives might be. We created our own poetry imagining what our favourite things about being an adult would be and what our favourite things about being 10 or 11 are!

This week, we have completed some outdoor revision by doing arithmetic orienteering. We also revised our reasoning so that we were really confident for our SATs tests!

RE

CAFOD – Appeal for Volunteers

In RE, we have researched different saints and thought about how they were committed to their faith. We used our research to create a book inspired by the 'Little People Big Dreams' books. We also learned all about CAFOD and created posters and leaflets to explore how they help people and how faith underpins their mission.

Topic

In PE, we have played rounders and football and used our skills of teamwork!

In Art, we have continued to explore chair design and we have been inspired by design videos to look closely to sketch shapes and patterns.

Homework - Kristina Stevenson's Classroom - SSD Public Website at Salem School District

Spelling -

There will be no spelling test this week, as the children have worked hard on their spellings for SATs!

This week, there will be no set homework as the children need a well-deserved rest after their SATs tests!
