Year 6 - St James CofE Primary School, Wardle : St James CofE Primary School, Wardle

Welcome to the Year 6 weekly blog.

This week in Year 6

English

Francis… – TheLiteracyLeader.

In English, we have been inspired by different videos this week to create narratives with suspense. We created a blend of action, dialogue and description based on the videos 'Francis' and 'Alma' and utilised our skills as writers to build tension into our narratives.

RE

SAINT MOTHER TERESA OF KOLKATA -

In RE, we have learned all about Mother Teresa. We have learned how she did small things with great love. We all thought carefully about what she could take with her when she became a nun and what she had to leave behind.

Topic

In Science, we have continued our topic on evolution. We researched different animals and learned about their special adaptations that help them to survive in their habitats.

In History, we completed our topic all about Crime and Punishment. We learned how the police have developed in the 20th century.

In Forest School, we all worked together so well to make our obstacle courses. There was negotiation, teamwork, imagination and cooperation at every stage of the process.

We have all really enjoyed our first aid training that took place today! We all learned how to complete a primary survey, complete comopression only CPR, and deal with medical emergencies.
