Year 5 have worked very hard this week with some tricky learning – well done!

In English the class have continued to use parenthesis in their writing, culminating in two differing predictions using their new skills. They have continued to follow Jim’s story in the class novel, ‘Street Child’ and are enjoying translating their knowledge of the workhouse into their set building project in Art.

In Maths Year 5 have been focussing on using the 24 hour clock to interpret timetables, as well as continuing to work on fractions and decimal equivalents.  Well done Year 5.

In RE this week, Year 5 have shared the story of Jesus’ Transfiguration and the message behind it. They also learned about Saint Paul and the early Christian community.

In computing, the class continued to manipulate databases and learned how to use the ‘AND’ and ‘OR’ functions to sort by multiple fields.

Finally, in Geography, the class have continued to explore volcanoes and research famous volcanoes from around the world.

Well done Year 5 on another great week of learning!
