We have had another fantastic week of learning in Year 5.

We have been creating and using similes at the beginning of our sentences this week in English and we have used them in our re-telling of the novel. We have also written about the pros and cons of junk food for under 16’s. Some very interesting thoughts here!

In Maths we have been learning about perimeter and, once again, practising measuring angles using a protractor. We have now moved on to 3-D shapes and nets.

In RE we have explored and evaluated the key points of Our Lady’s life, including The Annunciation, the birth of Jesus and Pentecost. We have then discussed her discipleship and how she is an inspiration to us.

We have been spending time building our programming abilities in computing this week on code.org. The children are welcome to play some of the games available on this website at home, to further boost their skills.

The week has ended with us discovering facts about the Amazon river and the people that live along it. A great week of learning Year 5 – well done!
