We have had another great learning week in Year 5.

We continued reading our new novel this week – The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. We wrote as Edward and blended action, feelings and description.

In Maths we learnt how to convert improper fractions to mixed numbers, as well as continuing to add and subtract fractions with mixed denominators. There has been a lot of great progress this week!

In RE we have continued to discuss and explore the meaning of confirmation and chrism, and how the Holy Spirit is linked to this. We also spent time learning about how the new pope would be chosen.

To celebrate VE day we all created our own Union Jack flags – it is trickier than you think!

The week ended with us discovering how the Maya civilisation lived. A great week of learning Year 5 – well done!
