Year 5 Blog Friday 5th September 2025

Date: 5th Sep 2025 @ 4:41pm

Welcome to your Friday Blog

We have had a fantastic start in Year 5 and all the children have tried so hard with their learning. Well done to the new Year 5!

The usual weekly home practise will start next week but it would be great if the children enjoy their reading this weekend.

We have started our novel this week in English – ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ and Year 5 have already done some impressive writing using expanded noun phrases.

In Maths we have been looking at large numbers, how to say and write them and we have also been revising how to exchange.

Well done Year 5!

Our first piece of scripture in RE was from Exodus and was all about Moses and the burning bush in the desert, where God spoke to him and gave him an important task. The children enjoyed re-telling the story.

In PE, Year 5 have been practising their throwing skills in netball and they all tried their best playing in teams.

Finally, we all enjoyed getting outside for an autumn nature walk and collecting ‘treasures’ for our class display.
