We have had another great learning week in Year 5.

We have started our new novel this week – The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. We have also enjoyed writing short, fictional stories this week.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

In Maths we have started to re-cap fractions, including mixed numbers, equivalent fractions and improper fractions. Well done everyone with this.

Following our talks about the Holy Spirit, we all enjoyed critically evaluating various famous paintings of the Holy Spirit before moving on to focus specifically on the sacrament of Confirmation and how the Holy Spirit is a fundamental part of this Sacrament.

In computing, we have started our computer science topic and we are using code.org to practise our programming skills.

The week has ended with lots of atlas work as we learn about the continent of South America. A super week Year 5 – well done!
