Year 5 have had a super week of learning– well done Year 5!

In English Year 5 have been summarising chapters from the novel, using simile and -ing starters. They also enjoyed making a missing poster for Edward.

In Maths Year 5 have been really trying hard to master fractions. They have learnt how to convert fractions from improper to mixed, and add and subtract fractions with differing denominators.

In RE this week, Year 5 have been learning about the seven sacraments with specific reference to confirmation. They have learned what happens during the confirmation service as well as what it means in terms of the Holy Spirit and their own spiritual journey.

Year 5 have also been developing their computer coding skills on code.org., learning to create sprites and manipulate them through code.

In PE, year 5 had their first practise ready for sports day, including running, egg and spoon and throwing.

Finally, Year 5 have continued to explore the South American basin and learn more about the Amazon river. They also spent time learning about David Attenborough’s career on his 100th birthday.

Well done Year 5 on another great week of learning!
