Year 5 have had a fantastic week of learning and have put in 100% effort – well done!

In English the class have been practising blending action, dialogue and speech, writing as Lucy lost in the woods. Everyone also enjoyed creating and performing poems about Autumn for poetry week. The class also really enjoyed walking down to the library to meet Jen Carney the children’s author. They heard readings from her book and took part in some fun games and activities.

In Maths Year 5 have started their new topic, practising adding and subtracting on a number line and using partitioning. Well done Year 5!

Year 5 have continued to explore the theological and cardinal virtues in RE this week and have been discussing how to apply them in practical habits every day. They all enjoyed creating role play scenarios about this and acting them out.

In computing, the class have been developing their knowledge about search engine optimisation and algorithms used to decide what search engines show us in results.

Finally, the whole school celebrated harvest together in the church – great singing Year 5 and thank you to everyone that donated food.
