Year 5 have had another great week of learning – a super effort all round Year 5!

In English the class have enjoyed developing their figurative language skills and written some amazing poems, writing as Popsicle from the class novel. In their sports reporting session this week, the class focussed on the role of a referee in sport and the challenges they may face.

In Maths Year 5 have continued to look at common factors and multiples and, also, are moving onto division.

In RE this week, Year 5 have been learning about why Jesus is called the ‘Son of David’. They created a family tree to show Jesus’ descendants right back to Abraham. The children also learned about St Andrew this week in Celebration of the Word and they spent time discussing how they can also follow Jesus’ path in life.

In Science, the class have started to explain and explore simple machines like levers, gears and pulleys and why they are useful.

In computing, Year 5 have started their topic on video production and editing. They will use the clips app to complete this.

Finally, the class have been learning lots of facts about Liverpool in geography, including the physical and human features of the area as well as the economic activity of the city.

Well done Year 5!
