Year 5 have had a great week of learning – well done!

In English Year 5 have been working together in teams and creating newspaper articles. They have also started to plan their own newspaper report on the cat vanishings from the ‘Varjak Paw’ novel.

In Maths Year 5 have started their new topic on reflection. This will continue into next week.

In RE this week, Year 5 have been reflecting on the meaning of heaven and this produced some fascinating discussions and ideas from the class. The children went on to create a poem about heaven.

The whole class enjoyed Science this week by going outside to plant potatoes and take mint cuttings, following our discussion about plant life and how plants can be cloned from one parent plant.

Year 5 were superstars on the Victorian school trip day. They enjoyed dressing up as Victorian servants and school children and following the rules! They also learned about various toys from that era and tried them all out.

Finally, Year 5 have now completed their sponsored Big Lent walk. Any sponsorship money for CAFOD is very much appreciated.

Well done Year 5 on another fabulous week of learning!
