Year 5 Blog Friday 26th May 2023

Date: 24th May 2023 @ 9:29am

Happy Friday and welcome to your Friday Blog

We have had a fantastic week this week.

In English we have continued reading Varjak Paw. We are really enjoying this book, it is so exciting. This week we have been writing more setting descriptions. Our focus has been to describe the city that Varjak goes to in two different ways. The first is the city when varjak first arrives. It is an exciting place with lots going on. The second is the city as night time approaches. Varjak begins to feel scared of the city. We have made sure that we have shown these two feelings in our descriptions - excitement and fear!

In maths we have been learning about improper and mixed fractions.

An improper fraction is a number greater than one whole.

We have been lucky enough to have two lessons with Gareth the sports journalist this week. In our first lesson we wrote all about the paralympics, we were so inspired by the incredible athletes.
