Year 5 have been amazing this week, completing all their assessment tests cheerfully and with 100% effort – well done Year 5!

In English, Year 5 have been developing ideas on characters, using ambitious vocabulary and also debating who might be behind the mysterious vanishings in 'Varjak Paw'.

In Maths, we have been practising converting km, kg and litres into  metres, grams and millilitres. We also converted fractions into percentages. This has been tricky but we have persevered. Super job Year 5!

In RE this week, Year 5 reflected on the power of prayer and created some beautiful new prayers for the class display, focussing on prayers for people in need and also prayers of thanks for the beautiful things God has created.

In Art, we all enjoyed going outside in the sun to practise sketching buildings as well as completing our Hockney style landscapes.

The whole class enjoyed Science this week by going outside to find living things in the school grounds. Year 5 found a huge variety of creatures and then created their life cycle maps of birds and insects.

Finally, Year 5 have now completed the first week of their sponsored Big Lent walk. They are walking 1km a day for ten days to raise money for CAFOD.

Well done Year 5 on another great week of learning!
