Maths practise – individual challenge.
Spelling Challenge – practise sheets have been sent home and there is a practise test on Sumdog.
Please also continue to use the fluency booster on Sumdog.
Year 5 have worked so hard this week. The children have really put a lot of effort in which is great to see!
Year 5 continued to practise reading out loud in class from the novel this week in English – ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’. They have also been practising handwriting as well as using similes and direct speech.
In Maths the class have been looking at number lines up to one million and working out whether numbers round up or round down. Well done Year 5!
In RE, the theme this week has been about love and what Jesus said about loving God and each other. In contrast, we also discussed the meaning of sin. Year 5 also attended a welcome mass this week in church with Father Michael.
In Music, everyone enjoyed playing the ukuleles and learning about rhythm and notation.
Finally, the week ended with their Anglo Saxon topic in History. They were able to identify why the Anglo Saxons came to Britain and decided to invade and then settle.
