Year 4 Blog Thursday 2nd April 2026
Date: 2nd Apr 2026 @ 8:38am
Welcome to the last blog of the Spring term
Our Learning this week
In English, we consolidated our learning about determiners by writing our own verse to a song.
In Maths, we practised the written method of division – chunking – both with and without remainders.
In RE, we retold the Holy Week story from St Peter’s perspective.
In Science, we planned an investigation to find out which drink causes the most tooth decay.
We will carry out the experiment after Easter with hard boiled eggs and different drinks.
During our PSHE lesson, we learnt how active listening can help us to relate to others.
Active listening includes – making eye contact, avoiding distractions and asking questions to clarify.
In PE, we used tactics to help outwit an opponent in a game.
Take a look at the pictures in our gallery.
In Art, we completed our still life collages.
There are some pictures in our gallery.
This week, we also went to church to watch an Easter Liturgy, beautifully led by Year 6.
Home Practice and Reminders
As it is the Easter holiday, we have not set any Home Practice / Sumdog challenges.
However, please keep reading every day – this really is the key to unlocking your learning.
We look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 20th April in your Summer uniforms.
Please remember to bring your PE kit back in on the first day back.
