Our Learning This Week
In English, we read some more of our novel and learnt that the Iron Man enjoyed eating anything made of metal.
We also started gathering ideas together for a menu specially designed for the Iron Man which we will be writing next week.
In Maths, we practised using partitioning to mentally multiply TU x U, and built on our knowledge of the grid method of multiplication.
Some of us found this tricky as we are not confident with our times tables, so we need to make sure we practise these as often as possible.
In RE, we discussed what a Jesse Tree is – a way to prepare for Advent by reading stories about Jesus’ family tree and hanging a symbol each day.
We then drew symbols which showed the different stories from the Bible and created a Jesse Tree in the classroom.
Have a look at some of these symbols in our gallery.
In Geography, we learnt about the different stages and features of a river.
We now know that a river can be divided up into three courses – the upper, middle and lower course – and that each course has different features.
This week, we also took part in the Santa Dash on Tuesday afternoon.
You can see some pictures of this in our gallery.
