Our learning this week
English
We used a dictionary to find out the definitions of new words.
We then wrote the word in a sentence of our own to show the word in context.
In addition, we planned and wrote an informal letter from one of the Snargets to his friend.
Maths
We converted between kg and g using the conversion 1kg = 1000g.
We discovered that we needed to multiply by 1000 to convert from kg to g.
Additionally, we converted between l and ml using the conversion 1l = 1000ml.
RE
In RE, we learnt about the 5 pillars of Islam which are core beliefs and practices that shape Muslim life.
They are:
Shahada – the declaration of faith
Salah – ritual prayer
Zakat – almsgiving
Sawm – fasting during Ramadan
Hajj – the pilgrimage to Mecca
PSHE
We explored different jobs people can have and what skills are important for these jobs.
We also considered what jobs we might want to do when we are older and which character strengths will help us.
Science
We explored the relationship between distance and volume.
History
In History, we researched the 12 Olympian gods and goddesses.
We also identified key Ancient Greek gods and goddesses from historical sources which were pinned up in the playground.
You can see us in action in our gallery.
PE
We practised our tennis skills and then played mini games to put them into action.
