Our Learning this week
In English, we consolidated our learning about verbs and then learnt more about adverbs.
We found out that they are used to modify or describe a verb and often tell us how, where or when something happened.
We then practised writing sentences using adverbs both before and after the verb.
In Maths, we consolidated our 3d learning by identifying and describing the properties of lots of different 3D shapes (eg a cone, a sphere, a cylinder and a prism).
We then started our place value topic by rounding numbers to the nearest 1000.
In RE, we listened to the story of Jesus walking on water and considered why Jesus might have worked miracles.
We also learnt the word ‘incarnation’ and described ow Jesus is both fully God and fully human.
In Science, we explored the properties of a liquid.
We discussed the different types of liquids and found out that thick liquids are called ‘viscous’ and although they pour more slowly, they still form a puddle.
In our ‘Our Happy Mind’ lesson, we learnt how to develop an ‘attitude of gratitude’.
This meant that we found out how it feels to give and receive gratitude.
We also learnt what the ‘gratitude domino effect’ is.
In PE, we demonstrated unusual ‘iron man’ style movements to keep in time with others.
In our groups, we worked together to improve and rehearse our dance. Have a look at the pictures in our gallery.
In Music, we composed and performed our own arrangements on the glockenspiels.
In Art, we continued with our topic ‘the art of display’.
We continued making our ‘plinths’ and started preparing the pictures of ourselves, so that they stood up unaided.
