TTRockstars challenge
A ‘garage’ session
Sumdog challenges
A spelling challenge based on the words above
A maths challenge based on multiplying by 10 and 100, as well as using known facts to work out other multiplications (eg 30 x 6, use 3 x 6 = 18, then multiply by 10)
Our Learning this Week
In English, we wrote questions about a chapter ensuring they were open questions, punctuated correctly using a question mark, and they made sense.
In addition, we explored alliteration. We had fun writing our names and sentences using alliteration as well as a humorous poem.
In Maths, we understood the effect of multiplying a one or two digit number by 10 and 100.
We extended this learning to recognise the relationship between a known fact and a related calculation.
For example, if 4 x 3 = 12, then 4 x 30 = 120 – the answer is 10 times larger.
In PSHE, we started the ‘celebrate’ module.
We learnt about character and character strengths.
We also learnt which strengths we use the most and why it is important to use our character strengths.
In RE, we learnt about the liturgical year – the cycle of seasons which organises the Christian year around the life of Jesus.
We then complete a liturgical calendar using appropriate symbols and colours.
We also labelled the feast of Christ the King, which marks the end of the liturgical year.
You can see some of these in our gallery.
In Science, we recapped what is needed for a simple circuit to light a bulb.
We then discussed the difference between a complete and incomplete circuit, and predicted whether examples of circuits would light a bulb or not.
In Geography, we researched and then discussed the different uses of a river.
In Art, we created a ‘zentangle’ as part of our ‘exploring pattern topic.
You can see some examples in our gallery.
