Please read for 20 minutes each evening to an adult at home.  Reading every night will help you read more fluently and with understanding.

Try and add lots of expression when you are reading and use the punctuation to add pauses.

Our learning this week

English

In English, we completed our writing about ‘someone special’.

Following our draft, proof-read and edit, we published our writing ready for Open Morning.

We hope you enjoy reading these next Tuesday.

Maths

In Maths, we measured, drew and compared the length of different objects including numbers to two decimal places.

You can see us practising this skill in our gallery.

RE

In RE, we learnt about St Paul’s conversion and compared his life to before and after this event on the road to Damascus.

In addition, we considered why St Paul is a significant figure for Christians.

PSHE

In PSHE, we learnt that ‘engage’ means to get involved, concentrate and try our best when completing different activities.

Science

In Science, we recapped our learning about sound being made when an object vibrates.

When the vibrations enter our ears, we hear them as sounds because the ear drum vibrates and sends a signal to our brain.

We also investigated whether or not sounds can travel through different mediums (solids, liquids and gases).

Take a look at the photos in our gallery.

History

In History, we acted out the story of Alexander the Great and discussed why he was such a significant figure in Ancient Greek history.

PE

In PE, we practised an under-arm throw and tapping it back to our partner with a tennis racket.

Following this, we practised balancing a tennis ball on our racket without dropping it.

Finally, we played a game in 2 groups which involved hitting the ball over net and trying not to be caught out.

Have a look at the picture in our gallery.

This week, we also took part in Dance from the Heart!

We loved dancing with the whole school and the South Ribble Dance Leaders.

Have a look at the pictures in our gallery.
