Welcome to your weekly blog

Home practice

Reading

Please read for 20 minutes each evening to an adult at home.

Reading every night will help you read more fluently and with understanding.

Look up any words you are unsure of in a dictionary.

This week, please practise counting in 6’s

Times tables and Number facts

Please practise your individual tables target for your test next week.

You can practise your tables on TTRockstars, Hit the Button and timestables.co.uk

You can practise a similar Multiplication Tables Check on timestables.co.uk

If you practise for 5 minutes every night, you will see a big improvement in your tables fluency.

Please also practise your number facts.

You can practise your number facts on Hit the Button

It is crucial that you learn all of your table facts and your number facts as this will help you with many aspects of maths.

Our learning this week

In English, we perfected our speaking parts for our Parent Assembly.

We were also shown a picture of a boat on stormy seas and wrote a story about it using our own imagination.

In Maths, learnt the names of triangles (equilateral, isosceles and scalene) and used the terms regular and irregular.

In addition, we named different quadrilaterals based on their particular properties.

In RE, we explored the text of the Apostles’ Creed and the meaning of the words.

In addition, we have been given a great deal of time to taking our First Holy Communion and what it means to us.

In PSHE, we learnt how to spot dangers and stay safe at home and when we are out and about.

We considered hazards at home, fire risks, railway, road and water safety.

In Science, we recapped the 8 main organs and their functions.

We demonstrated how this works using bananas, crackers, water, orange juice, a zip lock bag and some tights.

Have a look at the photos in our gallery.

In our PE lesson, we practised for sports day.

There are some photos in our gallery of us taking part in the different events.

In Music, we learnt the notes F and C on the ukuleles.

We then played a piece of music which practised the notes we have learnt so far.

There are some photos in the gallery.

Thank you for coming to our Parent Assembly om Friday – we hope you enjoyed celebrating with us.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday at the First Holy Communion Mass at 11am.
