Year 3 Friday Blog Friday 2nd April
Date: 2nd Apr 2026 @ 4:46pm

We have had a lovely end to the term in Year 3.
In RE, we have been learning about the Easter story and Holy Week. We watched different adaptations of the story and had some very thoughtful discussions in class. We also had the opportunity to watch Year 6 lead their Easter liturgy in church, which was a very reflective and thought-provoking experience for us all.

In English, we enjoyed reading more of our class novel and the children wrote in role as Naledi, imagining what it would be like to see the big city for the very first time. We focused on using ambitious vocabulary and writing in full, well-structured sentences. It was wonderful to see the children really stepping into the character and bringing their ideas to life.

In Maths, we have now come to the end of our fractions unit. The children have worked incredibly hard throughout this topic, and it has really paid off. Everyone has shown a fantastic level of understanding and knowledge this week - well done everyone for your effort and perseverance!
In Computing, we finished off our unit by creating brochures on Ancient Egypt using Canva. It has been lovely seeing all the learning that has taken place at home as well, there has clearly been lots of enthusiasm for our Egypt topic! We also have some exciting news coming next term linked to this, so watch this space.

In PE, we wrapped up our tag rugby learning, with the children showing brilliant teamwork, effort and sportsmanship. It has been great to see their skills develop over the term.
We hope you all have a peaceful and restful Easter break and come back ready for a busy summer term. Please remember summer uniforms when we return.
Well done, Year 3.
