Year 3 Friday Blog 4th February 2022

Date: 2nd Feb 2022 @ 10:16am

Welcome to your Friday Blog.

We have had a wonderful week in Year 3.

One of the highlights has been starting our new class novel - The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo. We are loving the book so far and have been finding similarities with Toro Toro by Michael Morpurgo. The writing we have done has been amazing, we have used lots of great words from the book and have also been creating dialogue using inverted commas (speech marks). On Friday we read a poem about Africa, this is where our novel is set. We then wrote our own poem. Below is the poem we read.

In science we have continued with our learning about light. We carried out a fair test to find out which material or object would create the darkest shadow. We also looked for patterns in what happens to shadows when the light source moves or when the distance between the light source and the object changes.

In art, we have been looking at some art work by Antoni Guadi. We are going to use his work as inspiration for our own work. We loved the bright colours!
