This week in Year 3
We have had a brilliant week in Year 3! Well done to everyone for your effort at Sports Day, it was a great afternoon and there were big smiles from all of the children. Thank you for all of your support!

In English, we have finished our focus on The BFG and the children have used speech to describe the events at the end of the book. They worked hard to ensure that all the speech punctuation was correct and we explored lots of different synonyms for 'said' to make our writing more exciting.

In Maths, we have completed some brilliant work on our number facts, arithmetic and problem solving skills. The children worked really hard to solve some tricky problems!
In History, we reflected on our trip to Bolton Musuem and discussed everything we learnt whilst we were there. We moved on to one of our last lessons of our Ancient Egypt topic, looking at the end of the Egyptian Empire. We were introduced to Alexander the Great and Cleopatra and we explored how Egypt lost it's power.

In RE, we understood that the Eucharist is linked to the Jewish celebration of the Passover. We reflected on artwork of the Last Supper, considering what we could see, think and wonder about the image. We then matched scripture quotes to information about the two events.
