Welcome to your Friday Blog
Home Practice
Continue with all the amazing home reading. It will help your children unlock so much more learning throughout their learning journey! Below you will find a link to the VIPERS question stems that will help you when reading with your children.
In maths this week, we have been learning the formal written method for addition and subtraction. Even though everyone picked up the method really quickly, a lot of us were making mistakes with our number facts. Fluency in these will give your children the best chance to succeed when they meet trickier learning as well as boost their confidence! We have set some number fact Sumdog challenges on Sumdog this week. Accuracy + Speed = Fluency.
Counting Practice - X3
Your spellings this week all have the same spelling rule. Try and practice a little every night.

This week in Year 3
It was wonderful to meet you all during Parents’ Evening this week. The children have been so excited to share all their brilliant learning and progress with you. We’re very proud of how hard they’ve been working!
In RE, we have been writing prayers about creation and exploring the themes of power and praise found in psalms and prayer. The children had some fantastic ideas and showed a lovely understanding of how we can praise God in many different ways.
Next Tuesday, we have been invited to join the Parish Mass, celebrated by Fr Michael. You are all very welcome to come and enjoy the Mass with us, it would be lovely to see you there.
In English, we have been learning how to write speech sentences and comparing these with action sentences. We’ve loved reading Stone Age Boy and will be exploring written speech further next week, using adverbs to make our writing even more exciting.
In Maths, we’ve been learning how and when to use the formal written HTO methods. Everyone has shown great resilience with this tricky learning and made huge progress in explaining their working out clearly.
In Science, we’ve been investigating animal skeletons and learning all about vertebrates and invertebrates. Check out our gallery to see some of our brilliant learning in action!
In French we have been learning lots of new ways to greet people. A bientot, Salut, Bonjour, et toi?, Bon soir were all popular choices. Fantastique!!
