Date: 13th Jun 2025 @ 3:57pm
Welcome to your Friday Blog
This week in Year 3, we’ve been busy diving into lots of exciting learning!
Home Practice
Reading: Please read every night at home. Remember to change your school books regularly, we have an amazing selection to choose from!
Spellings: The first 20 Year 3/4 statutory words. Look for the tricky bits in these words. If you remember the tricky bits you will remember more spellings!
Maths: Challenges are set on Sumdog. They are on 2D Shape and all your times tables.
This week in Year 3
In English, we started our new novel The Deathwood Letters and wrote some brilliant character descriptions. Everyone worked hard to include interesting vocabulary and detail.
In Maths, we’ve been learning about decimals – a tricky topic, but the children have shown great focus and enthusiasm!
In RE, we began our new branch Discover and Encounter. We learned about the Jewish escape from Egypt in the Book of Exodus and enjoyed listening to some powerful music to help us reflect.
In History, we investigated the pyramids! We used evidence and different interpretations to explore theories on how they were built. Super historical thinking and discussion from everyone – well done!
In Art, we created our fabric landscapes and have started planning how to add detail to them next week using thread. These will become the backgrounds for our moving pictures in our next art topic. Exciting stuff ahead!
