Home Learning

Reading – Keep reading every night for at least 15 minutes.

Maths – We’ve set two challenges on Sumdog this week. They focus on multiplication and fluency. Good luck!

Reminders:

On Monday, we will be making and evaluating our sandwiches in a MasterChef-style session! Please make sure your child brings in the ingredients for one sandwich and a butter knife to use. Thank you!

Our Wooden Pencil Case Shop is still open! There’s plenty of stock left – £3 for one or 3 for £5. This is part of our Enterprise Project, and we’re hoping to clear the shelves by the end of term!

This week in Year 3

We’ve had another fantastic week of learning in Year 3!In English, we have been really enjoying Journey to Jo’burg. This week, we wrote in role and retold parts of the story, showing great empathy and imagination. The children have really connected with the characters and their journey.

In Maths, we’ve been learning how to read scales accurately and recapped our time learning too. Super maths work, Year 3, great focus and effort all round!

In Art, we proudly finished our moving pictures projects. The children worked so hard to bring their ideas to life. Head over to our gallery to see their amazing creations!

In PE, we took part in our intra-sport orienteering event. Everyone gave 100%, tackling the exercises and finding all the points on the course with brilliant teamwork and determination. Well done, everyone!

On Wednesday, we had the pleasure of watching the Year 6 production of Joseph – it was absolutely amazing, and we were so proud of our older pupils!

In History, we learned about the end of the Egyptian Empire, including figures like Alexander the Great, Marc Antony, and Cleopatra. We’ve loved learning about Ancient Egypt this term, we've gained so much new knowledge and developed some excellent history skills along the way.

In Geography, we’ve been exploring the human and physical features of South America. We used our new atlases and researched using iPads to discover more about this fascinating continent. Super geography work, Year 3!
