We have had a brilliant week this week, with the year 6 production, some brilliant DT and a fantastic result in our Sumdog contest.
This afternoon we emailed out your child's report. On Monday, we will send out their attendance data in an envelope.
Home Practice
Continue with your fantastic home reading. Everyone is making amazing progress this year and this is down to your great home reading and regular practise!
This week we have set 2 challenges on Sumdog. Good Luck!
Make sure you also go on your fluency booster regularly to keep improving on those difficult skills.
No spellings this week but you can still practise past challenges on Sumdog!
This week in Year 3
This week in English, we have continued enjoying The Butterfly Lion. The children have written some brilliant pieces describing the watering hole, the little girl's house and a heartfelt letter from Bertie. It has been fantastic to see everyone remembering to use all of their Year 3 writing skills, including ambitious vocabulary, conjunctions, punctuation and paragraphing, to produce some of their best writing of the year. Well done, Year 3!

In Maths, we have been revisiting some of the trickier concepts we have met throughout the year. This week, we have focused on using division to solve a range of problems, applying the different strategies we have learned over the year. The children have shown great resilience and confidence as they tackled these challenges.
We also took part in the North West Sumdog Competition, competing against schools from across the region. We are delighted to have finished in an amazing 9th place. Super effort, Year 3! You should all be very proud of yourselves.
In PE, we enjoyed a fantastic week of sport, playing tennis and taking part in our own World Cup-inspired football tournament. It was wonderful to see such brilliant teamwork, determination and encouragement throughout the matches. Every child gave their best and showed excellent sportsmanship.
In DT, we created our recipe cards ready for our exciting food technology project. The children carefully planned their sandwiches, thinking about the ingredients they would need and how they would present their finished product. On Thursday, we will be transforming our classroom into a kitchen as the children create their sandwich creations ready for judging!
A reminder: Please send your child in with a bag containing the ingredients they will need for their sandwich. We will provide paper plates and all the utensils needed for the session.
