English

Our new book for this week was called 'How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth'. We discussed the features of instructions, found the features in a text, created a bank of adverbs and wrote our own set of instructions.

We also celebrated National Poetry Day. We wrote an acrostic poem about Autumn.

Maths

We made 2D shapes on geoboards which had certain requirements (such as: make a pentagon with one right-angle). We also recapped how to measure length using a ruler and how to convert centimetres into metres.

P.E.

We practised the front and back strokes, focusing on the correct arm movements.

R.E.

We compared four different saints of creation: St Mother Théodore Guérin, St Francis of Assisi, St Martin de Porres and St Kateri Tekakwitha.

Science

We practised contracting and relaxing our arm muscles.

History

We identified Neolithic tools.

Forest School

We remembered how to be safe around the fire. Mr Corbett lit the fire and we were invited to toast marshmallows.

Some of us had a go at lighting our own fire with the flint and steel.
