Year 3 Blog Thursday 23rd October 2025
Date: 23rd Oct 2025 @ 1:43pm
Welcome to your final blog of the half term!
This week in Year 3:

In RE, we learned all about Laudato Si’ and how Pope Francis encourages us to care for God’s creation. We compared the lives and messages of Pope Francis and St Francis of Assisi, spotting many similarities in their love for nature and people.
In English, we finished our story Stone Age Boy. The children wrote their own versions of the exciting hunt scene and shared their brilliant writing with eachother. We used speech to bring our stories to life and included some fantastic action sentences. Well done, Year 3!
In Maths, we have worked hard on our number facts, making all the numbers to 20 and improving our recall speed. We were the top class at St Oswald’s and finished in the top 20 in Lancashire in the North West Contest. An amazing achievement!
In PE, we practised our throwing and catching skills with a game of benchball. Everyone joined in brilliantly, showed great teamwork and learned the rules very quickly.
