Welcome to your Friday blog
Home Practice
Continue with your fantastic home reading. Everyone is making amazing progress this year and this is down to your great home reading and regular practise!
This week we have set 3 challenges on Sumdog. Good Luck!
Make sure you also go on your fluency booster regularly to keep improving on those difficult skills.
Your spellings this week are the Months of the year and Days of the week. We have set a sumdog challenge to help practice these.
This week in Year 3
We’ve had another busy and exciting week of learning.
In English, we described the Twits’ garden and home, making sure to use lots of different sentence openers to make our writing more interesting. The children came up with some wonderfully disgusting and imaginative descriptions!
In Maths, we began our new Geometry topic. We reminded ourselves about right angles and explored the properties of 2D shapes.
In Science, we learned all about the skeleton. The children labelled the different bones on a skeleton and were fascinated by how they work together to help us move and stay strong. Next week, we’ll be exploring muscles and their functions.
In RE, we continued looking at the creation story and discussed what it means to be made in the image of God. We talked about imago dei and how we can look after each other and creation to be more like God.
In PE, we worked on some tactics that can help us in invasion games, and we’ll be building on these skills in the coming weeks. Don’t forget that swimming will be back on as usual on Monday, kits at the ready!
In Computing, we started our new topic on digital devices. We explored inputs, processes, and outputs, before designing our own brilliant (and very creative!) devices.
