The Ugly Five : Donaldson, Julia, Scheffler, Axel: Amazon.co.uk: Books

English

We learnt through the book, "The Ugly Five". It's a rhyming story about animals in Africa.

We used it as inspration to write our own poem about one of the animals featured in the book.

We had a writing workshop where we discussed our ideas and helped each other out with rhyming words.

We then wrote a rough draft of our poem and finally published our poem in our English book.

We read our poems to the children in Year 3.

SPaG

We revisited the rules for adding ing to a word.

Maths

We continued to learn about fractions of amounts using bar models.

We also learned about fractions when describing a turn.
