The Barnabus Project Book Review

We started learning through our new story. Barnaby lives in a lab but he dreams of escaping. We wrote predictions about what might happen in the story. We described one of the Perfect Pets. We invented our own pet and wrote a fact file about it.

Maths

We have been learning all about money this week.

We have learned about the value of coins and notes...1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, £2 and £5, £10, £20, £50.

The children were very good at adding two amounts of money together. For example, 25p + 34p = 59p or £12 + £24 = £36.

Show your child any coins or notes you have at home and help them to become more familiar with their value.

Science

We finished off our last topic with an investigation. We wanted to find out the answer to the question, " Do the children who are tallest have the biggest hands?".

We found out that in our class the answer is "NO".

R.E

We celebrated Epiphany on Tuesday 6th January.

The children heard the Epiphany story and rewrote it beautifully in their own words with a lovely illustration.

RSHE

We learnt about the joy and friendship you can receive when you belong to a diverse community.

The children listed and illustrated the good behaviours that have a positive impact on God's community.
