The Bear and the Piano

English

We started learning through our new book, The Bear and the Piano by David Litchfield.

The bear's beautiful music takes him to amazing and wonderful places in his imagination.

We wrote a description about Bear using great adjectives and we tried to describe what Bear looks like physically but also describe his character/personality.

What are the properties of 3D Shapes? Definitions and Examples

World Map with Country Names 20833849 Vector Art at Vecteezy

Geography

The children looked at the map of the world and thought about our location in the world.

They learnt that we live in the Northern Hemisphere, Europe, England, Preston and our own village or area.

The Science of Fireworks

History

We learnt more about the story of the Gunpowder Plot and wrote our own version of the poem 'Remember, remember the fifth of November.'

I am the light of the world, He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” In this verse, Jesus compares himself to the sun: Bright.

RE

We read Isaiah (9:1-2) and thought about light and darkness in relation to Jesus and his different titles.

The children responded creatively decorationg their own lightbulbs with the different names of Jesus.
