Home Practice
Reading: In Year 2, children should read for at least 15/20 minutes every night and talk about the book.
This will help with understanding the text and learning new words.
Spelling: Please practise these spellings for your quiz on Friday (03.07.26):
petal equal capital metal pedal medal royal special canal final
Sumdog: Complete the multiplication/division and spelling challenges.
Counting: Count forwards and backwards in 4's. What do you notice?
You could also work on your 2, 5, 10 or 3 times tables, telling the time and doubling and halving.

English
Year 2 are really enjoying our new book, Harry And The Jaggedy Daggers by Jan Fearnley.
We have made predictions about the characters, setting, storyline and ending and produced great story maps.
The children also wrote a description of Harry and wrote in role as one of the jaggedy daggers.
Maths
The children have been completing arithmetic and reasoning quizzes this week.

RE
Our Bible story was The Good Samaritan.
The children retold the story on story fans and beautifully illustrated them.
We also looked closely at understanding the scripture and how we can use it in our daily lives.

PE
Dance from the Heart was a huge success.
The children did so well and really enjoyed the music and dancing.

Computing
The children have been working through their coding lessons.
They are thoroughly enjoying it and learning a useful computing skiills.
Forest School
We learnt about what the Summer Solstice is and how it was the longest day last Sunday. To celebrate this we made a summer crown using willow. We even had a dance .
