Home Practice
Reading: In Year 2, children should read for at least 15/20 minutes every night and talk about the book.
This will help with understanding the text and learning new words.
Spelling: Please practise these spellings for your quiz on Friday (05.06.26):
icy fancy recycle bicycle lacy spicy mercy juicy cyclone tricycle
Sumdog: Complete the measure and spelling challenges.
Counting: Count forwards and backwards in tens. See how far you can go!
You could also work on your 2, 5, 10 or 3 times tables, telling the time and doubling and halving.

English
This week we wrote our own versions of Snail Mail. We used envelopes/postcards and had some really great ideas.
We carefully checked our spellings and made sure our book looked beautiful. We then went on a book tour and read our stories to Year 4

Maths
We have been learning about measuring length this week.
The children have explored using and measuring with trundle wheels, metre sticks, measuring tapes and rulers.
They have ordered different lengths and solved measuring problems.

The children learnt about the different ways we can pray.
For example, pray the rosary, sing, dance, meditate or go on a pilgrimage.
We realised that the Holy Spirit helps us open our hearts to God.
History

The children learnt more about Queen Elizabeth II and her castles, such as, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Balmoral Castle.
They cut and stuck pictures of these castles and events that took place there in chronological order.

Sports Day was a great success.
The children were amazing and did so well, they showed super skills and sportsmanship.
The video will be posted over the weekend.
Science
We drew some conclusions from our seed investigation. We recorded the information in our own way using pictures and writing.
Forest School
We haven't worked in our nature area for a few weeks and we noticed lots of changes. The plants have grown really tall and the canopy of leaves on the trees kept us sheltered from the rain.
We followed our own learning interests. There was den building, imaginative games, delicious mud cooking and bug hunting.
