English
This week we started learning through a book called Rosie Revere Engineer. Rosie makes all sorts of gadgets and gizmos from things which she finds. She really perseveres and inspires her friends.
We wrote about what we would like to be when we grow up.

Maths
We are still learning about measuring mass, length and capacity. We learnt how to order weights/capacity/lengths.
We also completed assessments about our recent learning.

R.E
The children learnt more about Holy Week by exploring religious art. We looked at art to show forgivenesss.
They chose their favourite painting and explained why they liked it, then drew some of their own Reconciliation art.
We aslo learnt about the words Jesus said on the cross about forgiveness and learnt about the stages of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Geography
The children are learning about the weather and seasons.
They discussed, wrote about and illustrated their favourite weather or season.
Science
We made paper aeroplanes and tested them to see how well they flew. It was quite windy so we had to take account of the wind direction. We also tried to modify our planes by folding them slightly differently and by attaching paper clips to give them more weight.
Art
We looked closely at the brush strokes of the artists Cezanne and Van Gogh.
We used drawing pencils to draw a still life.
We used paint to try to make our own brush strokes.
We used pastels to match the colours Cezanne used on one of his works.
