Reading: In Year 2, children should read for at least 15/20 minutes every night and talk about the book.
This will help with understanding the text and learning new words.

model camel towel travel squirrel label tunnel jewel channel angel
Sumdog: Complete the addition/subtraction and spelling challenges.
Counting: Count forwards and backwards 100. Count in 100's. For example, 100, 200, 300. What do you notice?
You could also work on your 2, 5, 10 or 3 times tables, telling the time and doubling and halving.

English
We finished our story - Stella and the Seagull by producing some fantastic seagull information texts.
Our new story is Harry and the Jaggedy Daggers.
The children made excellent predictions about the story and enjoyed hearing about Harry's adventures and looking at the map included.

Maths
The children have been learning to use number lines to help them add/subtract two-digit numbers by partitioning the tens and ones.

History - Skipton Castle
We had an excellent day and the children's manners and behaviour was golden.
They remembered a lot of information from our lessons, but also learnt new/interesting facts about castles and life at the time.

Parent Assembly
The children really were fabulous in their class assembly - God's Wonderful World.
They read clearly, sang beautifully, danced greacefully and their art work was fantastic.
Well done Year 2.
