Home Practice

Reading: In Year 2, children should read for at least 15/20 minutes every night and talk about the book.

This will help with understanding the text and learning new words.

Remember you will get a sticker on your book mark for every book you read!

Spelling: Please practise these spellings for your quiz on Friday (19.09.25):

said, are, the, was, his, today, is, were, has and you.

Sumdog: Complete the 'Place Value - Tens and Ones' challenge.

English

We have been learning through the story of Burglar Bill.

We wrote him a letter telling him all about ourselves. We also made a poster.

In handwriting we have been learning how to form our letters with lead-ins.

Phonics 

We have been revisiting ee as in tree, ea as in leaf, e-e as in Steve and y as in happy.

Maths

Place value - we have been learning how to represent 10s and 1s using different equipment. We have used Base 10, straws ,counters and cards.

R.E

Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed reading the story of Noah's Ark. Using pictures and sentences they retold the story brilliantly.

Computing

It was interesting to learn and understand what Information Technology (IT) is.

The children identified items/objects that were IT and were not IT. They drew pictures and labelled them so well.
