This week, we have read some Katie Morag stories. We learnt a lot of facts about Katie and her family.

In Phonics we have been looking at real words and fake words. We worked really hard with Mrs Corbett to read all of our phonics words.

Maths

This week we have learnt about directions. We have learnt how to do a full turn, half turn, move forwards, backwards, left and right. Please help your children learn their left and right at home.

PE

We have been focusing on our catching skills this week as it can be quite tricky! We worked in small groups to improve our throwing and catching with big balls. We will start challenging ourselves to catch smaller balls next week.

 

Being Kind Instead of Right - Heartwood

RE

We talked about how we could turn ordinary days into special days. This could be by making good choices, being kind or helping others. We wrote about what we could do this weekend to help someone else.

Geography

We have started our 'Hot and Cold Places' topic in Geography. We used the laptops and atlases to find oceans, land, the poles and different countries. We loved using digimaps on the laptops to explore the world.

PSHE

We talked about how it is really important to never give up and always practise to get better at something. We talked about different jobs adults have and how they got their jobs.We watched a video and helped Carla to make the right choices about her dancing class.

We had an amazing trip to Lytham St Annes! We had lots of fun building sandcastles on the beach and we learnt all about the special lifeboats that go out to rescue people.We saw the end of the pier that is left from a fire which damaged the pier nearly 50 years ago.
