Sumdog challenges

Maths - Counting in tens.

Phonics - Sounds learnt this week.

Counting - We have been making groups of objects this week (groups of twos, groups of fives and groups of tens). Please practise this at home and count in your patterns.

Reading - Please try to read each night, it makes a big difference!

Please remember to bring book bags in each day.

English

We continued to read The Lumberjack's Beard. We made a story map together and re-wrote the whole story in our books.

Phonics

Some of us have been recapping phase 4 clusters at the start and end of words.

Some of us have learning the different ar spellings: ar in car, al in palm and a in rather. We also had the discussion about the south of England's pronunciation of bath and path.

Maths

We continued to solve different multiplication problem questions, this time using arrays. We used the maths resources to make our own arrays for each question.

We also completed lots of arithmetic questions. Most of us even got onto some arithmetic ninja challenge questions!

See our pictures here.

R.E.

We learnt about Pentecost and how the Holy Spirit came to the disciples. We identified the five main symbols of the Holy Spirit and made some beautiful artwork for the classroom.

P.E.

We have continued to practise for sports day this week!

Computing

We learnt how to log onto our new website: code.org. We started to learn how to follow simple coding instructions using a drag and drop motion.

See our pictures here.

PSHE

We continued to learn about how to be healthy, focusing on daily hygiene.

Forest School

In our session this week we did some cloud gazing on blankets using our senses to really experience being outside.

We also had a go at making shelters, we found some mini beasts, and we noticed new flowers growing.
