English

This week we read the story of Bob - the man on the moon. Bob's job is to clean the moon as pesky aliens kept making it dirty! We used adjectives and verbs to describe our own alien, then we ordered the story, focusing on using the days of the week in the correct order. See our pictures here.

We also wrote our own firework poems using onomatopoeia sounds.

Phonics

Some of us started phase 3, focusing on the single letter sounds - j, w, v, x, y and z.

Some of us have recapped the phase 3 trigraphs.

Some of us started to learn the split digraphs - a_e in game, e_e in Eve and i_e in slime.

Maths

We have been comparing numbers using the vocabulary of 'more', 'fewer' and 'equal to'.

We also practised our number formation. See our pictures here.

R.E.

We read the Annunciation story where Angel Gabriel visited Mary to tell her about Jesus. We role played the story in groups and talked about how Mary might have felt.

In our 'Celebration of theWord' we focused on Jesus stating that Church is a special place to go to, which is for praying and for talking to God.

P.S.H.E.

We talked our how we all have a 'busy place' that our brain goes to when we are worried or scared. We thought of different things that we could do to get back to our 'happy place'.

Art

We printed handprints in our sketchbooks using a layering technique.

See our pictures here.

Science

We identified different animals.

History

We explored the differences between toys from the past and the present.

See our pictures here.
