Home Practice
Reading: In Year 1, children should read for at least 10/15 minutes daily and talk about the book/new words they come across.
This will help them become more confident and fluent readers.
Book changing day is on a Monday each week.
Please remember to send book bags in every day as we will read with your children on a regular basis.
Spelling: This week's tricky words are: again, thought, through, the.
Please practise reading and spelling these words. We will have a quiz at the end of next week.
Sumdog: Complete the addition/subtraction within 20
and spelling challenges (the four tricky words above).
Counting: Count forwards and backwards to 100. Ask what is one more/less than a given number.
Count in tens, what is ten more/less than a given number.

Our book this week was - Goldilock's and the Three Bears.
The children sequenced the story and labelled a picture using relevant vocabulary.

They were using what they had learnt to solve addition and subtraction problems.
Next week we will be learning all about 2-D and 3-D shapes.

RE
The children wrote and illustrated beautiful prayers to say thank you for our wonderful world.

Art
We made bonfire night pictures using oil pastels for the fireworks and tissue paper/wood coloured card for the bonfire.

Geography
Our new topic is...Our School within it's Locality - Longton.
